It's all about the details. It's what sets each wedding apart. It is a vision a bride has in her mind of her ideal wedding day. She works on the details for at least a year. In the end, it comes together so clearly. It is what I look forward to seeing. You can tell that Nicole spent lots of time on the details. Saturday August 8th was a perfect day for a wedding. The bride dressed at the mansion, before heading off to St. Louis for the ceremony. The steps were a perfect backdrop for photos with the even lighting and beautiful texture. There is always a perfect breeze to catch the veil...
Off to the Saturn Club, where all the details came together. The Martini Luge was a huge hit, as were the flower wreaths with Nicole and Peter's initials. The colors brown and green were put together so well, even the girls wore green shoes. What a beautiful wedding, it could have been out of a magazine! Congratulations Nicole and Peter!

Saturday August 1^st was a beautiful summer day. A perfect day for a wedding.

I have to say that in all the years and hundreds of weddings I have seen, this was my favorite colored bridesmaid dress ever. Of course I am partial to anything purple, and it was amazing. Lori looked beautiful in ivory. The flowers complimented perfectly with purple and yellow.

The ceremony was held at Nativity in Clarence, performed by Father Wardenski, who has known the grooms family for many years. Lori’s mom did a wonderful job walking her down the aisle. It was a lovely and touching ceremony.

You couldn't have asked for a better day at the Japanese gardens, with do many different backdrops for photos. What a fun, cooperative wedding party!

Last night I had the pleasure to meet the loveliest newborn, Madelyn. Kim and John plan to have one month, six month, nine month and one year photos, as a collection celebrating Madelyn's first year. This is a wonderful way to capture all the details that change so quickly in the first year. I like to have the parents involved in the first session, to showcase the new family. Providing the babies are comfortable and cooperative, we are sometimes able to have an outfit change too. As you can see Madelyn is a natural for the camera!

This weekend I also got the chance to debut my first official kids birthday party with the dress up theme. Here's how it works: We start with the birthday girl(Brynleigh), having a photo taken all dressed up. Next, I make a custom invitation with her picture. On party day, I have all the dress ups, and each girl gets to make her own choices. Once they're ready, we do a mini photo shoot. I print up a photo of each girl to take home (in a frame) as a favor. The girls loved it, and were so excited to see how adorable they looked. Of course Ann and her mom are avid gardeners, so you couldn't ask for a more beautiful setting. It looked as if it were a professional outdoor studio setup. Now, we will design a custom thank you to print and send.
I have to admit I was excited and nervous as to how everything would go. The rain stayed away, and all went smooth and easy. Thanks Ann, you did a fabulous job at arranging everything. I had so much fun, I can't wait to do it again..........

Mak and I celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary this Saturday, the 24th. We also will now share it with an amazing couple, Lauren and Aaron. We were so lucky to be part of such wonderful day. You can tell that Lauren and Aaron are a perfect match. They are truly genuine, lovely people.
The ceremony was beautiful, performed by Aaron's Dad, at the Eastern Hills Wesleyan Church. I just loved to hear him tell the story of each of the families, and how long they have known each other. It is so awesome to see two wonderful families coming together, becoming a new family, a new couple. I was touched by all the words that were spoken, from the ceremony to the speeches, we were moved by all the emotion. Fox Valley was a perfect venue. The view is great, and their are lots of little unknown places to take great photos. The sunset was quick, but we had time to catch a few beautiful shots. From now on when we celebrate our anniversary, I will always remember this special day, and this special couple. Congratulations !!!!

This week I also had a chance to catch up with Mollie and Isabella. Isabella has been coming to see me regularly since she was a newborn(actually sooner, as we had a maternity session too). I love when I am able to start photographing a baby, watch them grow as a toddler, and continue to see them grow as young children. It's great to compare pictures from different sessions, and see how they've changed, as well as how much they look the same. At the end of one year it's nice to put a book together of all the sessions, as a keepsake album. Isabella danced up a storm, rode her rocking horse, and finally had a cuddle with mom (who is expecting again close to Isabella's Birthday)
I can't wait to meet the new baby, and see Isabella being a big sister!

Wow, what an eventful week ! Lot's of fun shooting! I finally had the opportunity to meet Olivia, my former Bride and Groom's new daughter. She is absolutely beautiful, and has a bit of both families, but definitely her mom's smile. She was so expressive, and curious. We had a variety of styles, but my favorites are the mirrors. Babies love to see themselves in the mirror. This is one of the best perks of my job! I love to see the babies.

I hadn't been to Beaver Island since last summer. I forget how much fun it is and how close it is. The kids played in the sand until sunset, and were so happy.
While there, I photographed Phil and Janine and their beautiful daughter. The light is so amazing on the beach. The temperature was perfect--and yeah--no rain !!
I wish the summer would last forever!

Friday evening I had the opportunity to photograph a former bride and her family at the family home in Niagara Falls. Katie's parents are celebrating their 45th Wedding Anniversary so all her Siblings, their families, and her Grandmother, gathered for an extended family photo. Katie coordinated, having all wear khaki and white, with a splash of pink. The result was beautiful. Luckily the weather was perfect. It was so nice to have two family portraits in the same week! (Both were organized by brides who were married five years ago) What a great time to get the family together in the beautiful summer weather, to create a memory that will last a lifetime. Great job Katie!

Tonight was the first day of old home days in Williamsville. The kids and Mak marched in the parade, while I photographed a much anticipated family gathering at Glen Falls. Wendy and Wally (former bride and groom) have just celebrated their five year Anniversay. They are so much fun, and I always look forward to their company. Wendy planned this photo shoot months ago, with her entire family in mind (before we knew it was such a busy evening at Glen Falls). She did a fantastic job of coordinating the attire of the group, as well as keeping everyone on track. I love when families take the time out of their busy schedules to organize a picture like this. It may seem like a lot of work at the time, and often people put it off. When it's all said and done, they look back and are so thankful for having done it.
In the past week, I have been checking the forcast, (as was Wendy), and I promised it wouldn't rain. We were in luck. It was perfect. Great Job Wendy!

It's Senior pictures time again ! It's a great idea to book early to beat the August/September rush. I also have a special offer of free signature wallets which I've extended to July 31st. Last night between between bursts of rain clouds, I was able to photograph Olivia. It was a fun laid back session so easy to shoot with such a natural beauty. I
t has been hard to plan shoots with all the rain, but somehow it all worked out great.

July 4th I spent the day with the most amazing family, documenting the wedding of Farrah and Fadi. What a glorius day it was. Weather was perfect (among all the rain we've had). From beginning to end the day was high energy. There is really no way to describe a traditional Lebanese wedding. Sure, I could tell you all about the traditions of the ceremony, but there is something that goes beyond description. It is a feeling in the air, an energy so powerful, you feel as if you are riding a wave. It's magical. Maybe because there is such an emphasis on tradition, or because there are so many family members together, sharing the joy of the day. There is such a strong bond of family, and so much love and emotion. You can't help but feel you are part of something big. The Brides mom, and sister Monique did a fabulous job with all the preparation.
All the family gathers at the Brides house to wish her well, have a photo with her, and see her on her way. The air is filled with happiness. On the way to the church no one can miss the convoy of family beeping happily, as they escort the Bride. At the church the groom awaited, with a smile a mile wide. His brother (a priest in Lebanon) came to perform the ceremony. It was beautiful !
Off to Glen Falls, with the bride and Groom in a vintage white Rolls Royce. They are so sweet together--a beautiful couple. After photos, it was off To Samuel's Grand Manor for the reception. The room was exquisite and elegant !
The entrance was a traditional dance, where the bride and groom are actually lifted in the air as they dance, to music so wonderful that you feel the energy as you listen. The band was fantastic, and I have actually gone online to buy some of there music. (google them Amin Sultan, with world renowned Flutist Omar Faruk they are a amazing !)
The speeches were so touching -- so heartfelt. From there the party never stopped---the dance floor was packed. What an amazing away to spend the day. (more magical than any fireworks) Congratulations to the Mahfouz, and Chahine families!

The week is flying by. I can't believe its July 1st already ! I wish it were summer all year round. Today was a great day to catch up on editing and posting. Check out the view events page for all the new websites! Marisa (my assistant, who is home for the summer from RIT where she studies Graphic Design) was here all day, helping me get caught up. Thanks Marisa!!! We designed new business cards today, so look forward to seeing them soon.....
Tonight I did senior pictures for Kristen. I have known Kristen for years from Birgit's. I was so excited to have the opportunity to shoot her senior pictures. She is an amazing girl, so easy to photograph. What a variety of different looks we were able to capture. I love using dramatic lighting/angles, it's my favorite way to shoot!

Yesterday was a bit surreal for me. Darya had her last day of kindergarten, and Sarina has finished 2nd grade (my babies are so grown up!)
But the strangest thing to me is that my best friend Cindy's daughter Kayla, is graduating on Sunday and last night was her prom ! Kayla was the flower girl in our wedding 16 years ago! She was 2 ! Now this is amazing to me that here she is preparing for college, yet it seems like yesterday she led us up the aisle. Where does the time go????
I arrived at noon to start hair and makeup for Kayla and a few friends. Kayla loves Tinkerbell (so do I) so she had a lime green/hot pink theme. It was very fun to be a part of such a special day. All I could think of was my girls, and how quickly they grow up. Enjoy everyday when they are little. Stop thinking about all the little things that you can't finish around the house. Enjoy the noise and the chaos.....

Tuesday evening I had a chance to catch up with a dear friend that I worked with for years. Sandy Smith is a wonderful amazing lady! This week her son Matt and his lovely wife Leslie were visiting from Kentucky, with their two beautiful children. I have photographed Evan a few times before, but this was the first time I met Ella. What an expressive baby! Evan seemed so grown up, and was so good with his little sister. They are adorable! The family was color coordinated with a patriotic theme. It worked great! Very original. Sandy's yard is amazing, the perfect backdrop. I love this sort of relaxed setting where kids can be themselves. I wish summer were all year long so I could always shoot outside.
It's so good to see old friends. Time goes so quickly, we really need to put everything aside in our busy days, and get together with people we care about.

This week has been a hectic one! It's the last week of school for the kids. We are excited for summer vacation, but we will miss all our friends, and teachers at Maple West. It has been a fabulous year--it seemed to fly by.
Tuesday night I was at Glen Park , shooting an engagement session for Jen & Matt, who will be married in September. the weather was great, and the park was lively. Congratulations to Jen & Matt!

Yes, I have to admit, my job is way too fun ! Tonight I had the pleasure of photographing two princesses (sisters) who were absolutely adorable ! There is something about the lighting at this time of year in the early evening that is magical. There was a slight breeze which added the perfect touch. There is nothing better than seeing the excitement and wonder in a childs eyes as they run, play, and show off their personality.
Of course, my little helpers, Sarina and Darya, came to assist me with props and a toe tickler. And, after all the fun a last shot with a new friend. They love to help, and especially love to share their swingset, before our new friends have to go home.

I had the honor of photographing two the the most amazing girls today. Their mom is a former Bride of mine, and has two lovely daughters. The pettiskirts were a big hit, and twirled very nicely. We shot in studio, and outdoors, as the weather was perfect.
I love photographing sisters, seeing each of their unique personalities. I had a great time today. Thanks for being so good!

Wedding season is off to a wonderful start. This weekend I had the pleasure of photographing the Martinelli/Bull wedding in Lewiston, NY. The weather was perfect. The ceremony was lovely, held at St. Peter's in Lewiston. Father Sibby has a wonderful way of add a personal touch, by reading letters the bride and groom have written about each other. It was very touching.
After the ceremony we headed to the water. We had a beautiful view which made for an awesome backdrop. The wedding party was a very cooperative and fun bunch to work with. The Bride was beautiful in a white dress trimmed in red, complimented by a bouquet of red roses, and white Calla lilies. (Maureen's of course).
After photos we headed to Barton Hill Hotel and Spa, for the reception. If you haven't been to Barton Hill, you must check it out. It is a beautiful location, and the lighting inside is amazing. The room was decorated beautifully, and the cake was perfect. (Muscoreil"s of course)
It was truly a fantastic day. Congratulations Dana and Rob!!

Well the weather is beautiful, and has been very cooperative for early evening photos at Glen Falls. I am amazed after so many times I have shot there, to still discover new places, I've never
tried before.
The past week I've done two engagement and one family session. I love shooting after 5pm, or even 6pm as the light is so beautiful and even.
Spaces are filling up for portrait sessions quickly, so don't miss out if you'd like to have yours taken this spring.

Where does the time go??? April was a whirlwind, and here we are mid-May already.
Once again, I have exciting new ideas to share. In April I was fortunate to attend two fabulous photography seminars, which gave me lots of new ideas, and inspirations. The first was David Ziser here in Buffalo, whom I have seen before and was so happy to see again. It was at his last visit that I was inspired to produce DVD slideshows from my photo sessions. This has been a big hit, as anyone who has seen them will tell you. This year, look forward to the inspirational new book deigns (samples will be ready to view soon in studio) that are enabled with fabulous new software. Can't wait to show you!
Also in April, Our family took a wonderful Vacation to Virgina, with a bonus stop in Baltimore, where I was fortunate to see the amazing Sam Puc. She is a fantastic photographer, and a wonderful teacher. I felt her Tots to Teens tour was the most valuable seminar I have ever attended. I am happy to announce that she uses the same book company Finao, and the same Frame company GNP Frame, that I currently use. However, I have now seen endless new possibilities, from these companies that I am happy to share with you.
Sam's photos are so engaging, and she even had live models to demonstrate her techniques. I was especially impressed with the choice of clothing used in her shoots. I am particularly fond of the Belle Ame Pettiskirts. Knowing how my own girls love to dress up and play, I decided this would be a big hit, and I'm pleased to announce that I now have a plethora of colors in stock to play with. (as you can see the girls were happy to try them out)
May has brought the start of family pictures in the park, and early Senior pictures. When was the last time you had a family portrait taken???? I have availability evenings and weekends in Glen Falls, Beaver Island, and Delaware Park. Spaces are limited, so book you family portrait session today! Welcome to my blog.

Happy New Year!
I want to thank all my clients, new and old for a wonderful year in 2008.
Wedding season was exciting and adventurous. Look for new photos in my gallery's from Central Terminal, Barton Hill, Pearl Street Grill, Harry's Harbor Front, The Statler, The Mansion, The Butler Mansion, Holiday Inn Grand Island, Beaver Island, Niagara on the Lake and Country Club of Buffalo.
Family portraits took us to Glen Falls, Beaver Island, Delaware park etc., where we captured the most unique memories, that will last a lifetime. I also had the pleasure of seeing many of my former brides with their new babies (Congratulations to all of you !) Remember, you have special privileges--free sittings for the new additions!
Christmas brought many families, (and even pets) to the studio. With a whole new array of Christmas Cards to offer, we will custom design cards in any quantity.
For those of you who haven't been in to the studio lately, I have many new products to view. From new books to large Gallery wraps, Woven blankets, and other fun specialty items.
I have also updated my logo, with the help of my favorite designer Gina Fonatana-Sieperski. I love my new logo, and feel that it truly represents me. Look for my new logo on all my new marketing material and boutique packaging.
At this time I am busy in production mode. I am working on Wedding albums for last years brides. This process is a long one, because each album is custom designed and hand assembled. Thank you for your patience. Also, thank you to my new helper Sarah!
